disparate impact is mainly applied to employment claims, its metric may be used in other
cases involving algorithmic bias. Employers are advised by the EEOC to verify the
standard that algorithmic decision-making tool vendors use.

In addition, accountability and transparency are crucial for reducing bias. Companies
creating AI technology ought to be open and honest about their workings, reveal any
potential biases, and aggressively solicit user input to make constant improvements to
their algorithms.
